Overall, U.S. organizations shelled out $58.5 billion for training this year (including payroll and training budgets), with $16.3 billion earmarked for external learning products and services. These numbers are up 4.8 percent and 3.1 percent, respectively, from last year's figures of $55.8 billion and $15.8 billion.
